Islands and mountains trip
Islands and mountains

The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in getting a new perspective.’ Marcel Proust’s quote was our inspiration for this trip. It’s all about seeing Zadar area (known for it’s numerous Nature Parks) through lens of two extremes: islands and mountains in all their roughness and beauty.

Set out on a kayak from a little fisherman village on a journey to tens of islets, bays, beaches and a shipwreck. Paddle in crystal clear waters far off the beaten path and meander between little islands and straights with Velebit mountain constantly somewhere in the background. Cycle around the island to find your own beach. As you start to understand the dynamics of simple village life, we head up to the mountain world.

Trekk through diverse landscape of Velebit: observe how carbonate rock canyon and maquis make way for huge oak forest where our mountain hut is placed. Meander in little settlements to see life high up. From there hike up to one of the nearby peaks for stunning views of the area. Connect the dots and understand why Croatia is more like five countries than one.
