Kayak camping style trip to the maze of islands in Zadar archipelago provides you access to places most people will never see. Whether it is beautiful little beaches, coves, and snorkeling spots, many of them are accessible only by sea kayak. Away from crowds and in some of the most stunning camping places you can imagine.
Kayaking the area is as much about discovering as it is about pure paddling thrill and vistas from your boat. Expect a stunning hike to see the paddling area from above. Expect a paddle into submarine tunnels. A stroll through fishing villages is on the menu every day, as are some great camping recipes rooted in local seasonal produce.

ITINERARY
Our base is village Molat and our paddling route includes islands Ist, Dugi Otok and Zverinac.
DAY 1, ARRIVAL
We meet at Molat dock as you get off your catamaran/ferry from Zadar. We sit down to go through the plan for the week and the logistical implications. We personalize your gear, pack the gear in the kayaks, and head out to island Brščak for the first camping site.

DAY 2
After breakfast, we pack our gear and head towards Lagnici islands and sunken ship Michele for a snorkel or a paddle-over. A longer lunch break is on a picturesque pebblestone beach, followed by a paddle in Pantera lagoon. We continue to island Zverinac for a camping night and a delicious camping dinner.

DAY 3
Another breakfast coffee, pack the gear, and paddle past fishing village Zverinac. From there continue to submarine tunnels for a paddle inside and a chat about the historical context for these stunning man-made tunnels. Expect snorkeling stops on a few picturesque islands. We finish on one of them for our next camping dinner. There is an optional extra 3km paddle to restock on supplies.

DAY 4
After the morning ritual, we continue our journey south, past a 14-century church sitting on a little hilltop peninsula. We island-hop to multiple uninhabited islands and paddle around island Rava. Its outer side hides a pebble stone beach and some great snorkeling. Its inner side is dotted with meticulously maintained olive trees. We camp in Rava’s pine forest.

DAY 5
We have an earlier start today in order to complete a 1k paddle to the coast of Dugi Otok where we start our hike to Strašna Peć cave. A scenic dirt road opens vistas towards the open sea and rugged coastline and leads to the cave. From there, there is an option to do an intermediary hiking route that takes us back to the kayaks over the hilltops with stunning views of the archipelago. We paddle to island Rava and then to island Iž for a night of camping on a pebble stone beach and stunning views of the stars and the open sea.

DAY 6
Today we do an island crossing to island Sestrunj for a cozy break in one of its small ports. From here great views of both the Velebit mountain range and distant islands in the open sea. We hop over to island Tun and then to island Molat. We camp on a sandy beach and enjoy a game of picigin.

DAY 7, DEPARTURE
We paddle Molat’s NW coastline and finish in Lučina bay. There is an option to add another 9km paddle to Brgulje bay. Depending on the time of year, the car ferry departs around 17h, arriving in Zadar at 20.00h. Alternatively, there is a catamaran the next day at 6.50h.
